Sustainable, Plastic-Free Canadian Stoneware Inspired by the Canadian Wilderness
Benoit Leblond
Studio Director & Resident Artist of The Pottery Canoe Company
We strive to provide our customers with the highest quality.
For a decade, Benoit Leblond’s life was defined by the grit of metal fabrication and the punishing pace of the industrial trades. It was honest, demanding work, but it left little room for the things that truly mattered. Benoit was always out the door before the sun was up, often missing out on those quiet, vital moments with his wife and young children.
This story actually began fifteen years ago at Maxwell Pottery, during a five-year stretch learning the soul of a pottery studio. That foundational experience planted a seed that lay dormant while he built a life in the trades.
In May 2026, the path finally led him back home. By trading the welding torch for the chance to get his hands back into the clay, he brings the craftsmanship of a fabricator to the soul of hand-crafted stoneware.
This transition is more than a new chapter, it’s a return to balance. It’s about trading a frantic commute for a purposeful life at the heart of the home, pouring that focus and heritage into every piece he fires. From his hands to yours, this is functional art rooted in hard work, family, and the spirit of the Canadian wilderness.
“We love crafting items that hold memories and bring joy to your place of tranquility.”
